Monterey Bay Aquarium

These pics were taken at the Monterey Aquarium without a flash which is the cause of some of the effects...some good, some not so much...

Checkout the Monterey Bay Aquarium website, it has webcams of the penguins, otters, kelp bed tank and tuna/shark tank - really cool to watch at feeding time.

Double click on images to enlarge

Just a few of the many varieties of sea anemone on display

This is one of the medium size tanks (floor to ceiling high)

Wonderful blown glass on display over by the jellies

These are small tanks (small being relative - about the size of a very large tank you might have at home)

The jellies - there are many, many amazing varieties, but unfortunately this novice photographer is not very good at shooting them.

The sea gulls line up to gain admittance...

Find the flounder - there were probably aboub 20 in this tank.

This is the open tank (about waist high) for the rays and tiger sharks.

Can you guess what these puppies are? You have probably seen them dead, but never alive.

This is the huge (bigger than my house) kelp bed tank that is like an extension of Monterey Bay

This is the huge tank where the great white shark lives with the other sharks and tuna and other miscellaneous friends.
